Spoke too soon!

Just when I start congratulating myself for lasting the whole winter without a cold or sniffle, the inevitable happens. I am surrounded by coughing and spluttering people at work so it's little wonder I caught a virus but the timing couldn't be worse. My doctor has prescribed bedrest for the rest of the week to help me recover as much as possible before our longhaul flight. Not happy, Jan!

On the positive side, we have a car and hotel booked for Berlin. Aussie gifts for MOH's relatives in Poland have been bought and made, and the to-do list is getting shorter.

Minor Details

So much for the 'minor details' referred to in my last post!

We went online yesterday to book a car in Berlin. We chose the car that best suited our needs and budget, and were given a cost of about $660.00US. I changed the setting to show that we are from Australia, and the amount changed to a staggering $1500.00AU.

We are prepared to pay for the car hire, but not to be ripped off. Needless to say, we will be taking our business elsewhere. Time is running out, so I hope we find something soon.

So Excited!!!!

So excited - we are jumping on a big plane and travelling to the other side of the world!
All going well, the plan is to go to Poland first, via London and Berlin. MOH (My Other Half) has family there, and we are looking forward to meeting them all.

Then, back to Berlin for a short stay and a look around - including the Steiff shop (I hope it's still there), and on to England. Can't wait to revisit York and London, and other places in between. MOH hasn't been to England before, but I know after our short stay he will want to go back again soon for a good long look around - fingers crossed!

We still have a few things to organise - cars, spending money and some accommodation! Minor details! The main thing is that we have our tickets and we are definitely going! Hooray!!
